Halliburton Cheating Retirees After Unit Sale: Suit

Law360, New York (May 4, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Halliburton Inc. has been drilled with a proposed class action by Dresser-Rand Co. employees, who claim they are still owed benefits past the date of Halliburton’s sale of the former subsidiary.

The employees say the oil giant violated the Employee Retirement Income Security Act when it refused to pay pension benefits past the date of its sale of Dresser-Rand to Ingersoll-Rand Co., according to the lawsuit filed in the western district of New York Tuesday.
