Xcel Unit, Others Should Pay For $98M Wis. Cleanup: EPA

Law360, New York (April 29, 2011, 3:21 PM ET) -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency said Wednesday that four parties, including an Xcel Energy Inc. subsidiary, should pay for cleanup at a Wisconsin Superfund site that could cost up to $98 million.

The EPA mailed special notice letters to Xcel subsidiary Northern States Power Co.-Wisconsin; the city of Ashland, Wis.; Canadian Pacific Railway subsidiary Soo Line Railroad; and Canadian National Railway subsidiary Wisconsin Central Ltd.
