Male Cashier Hits Fry's Electronics With Sex Bias Action

Law360, New York (April 29, 2011, 3:11 PM EDT) -- A former Fry's Electronics Inc. cashier lodged a class action in California state court Thursday, alleging the retailer discriminates against male workers and fails to provide employees with proper vacation pay or seating accommodations.

As a male cashier, named plaintiff Brian Dushman routinely helped customers carry purchases out to their cars, though female employees were not required to perform the same tasks — depriving him and other male workers of chances to earn commissions, according to the suit.
