API, Kronos Nix Merger Over DOJ Antitrust Fears

Law360, New York (April 29, 2011, 3:54 PM EDT) -- Kronos Inc. and API Healthcare Corp. abandoned efforts to merge Thursday after federal antitrust regulators raised concerns that the deal would have led the rival health care employee management technology providers to boost prices.

Originally announced in early February, the transaction called for Massachusetts-based Kronos to acquire Wisconsin's API from investment firm Francisco Partners II LP for an undisclosed sum.
