Law360, New York (April 29, 2011, 10:28 PM ET) -- Gibson Dunn & Crutcher LLP will have to pay a six-figure sanction for discovery shenanigans in its representation of Encana Corp. in a price-fixing case, the Ninth Circuit ruled Friday.
The magistrate judge did not err when he imposed a $102,078.97 sanction on the firm for directly contacting counsel for a third-party witness to try to delay a deposition, a three-judge panel for the Ninth Circuit said.
