ICG Ordered To Pay $104M Over Coal Supply Contract

Law360, New York (May 03, 2011, 1:33 PM ET) -- International Coal Group Inc. said Tuesday it had been hit with a roughly $104 million judgment in Pennsylvania over a breached coal supply contract, a ruling issued the same day Arch Coal Inc. announced it was buying ICG for $3.4 billion.

Scott Depot, W.Va.-based ICG said the ruling Monday came in an action that Allegheny Energy Supply Co. LLC and its Monongahela Power Co. subsidiary had filed in a Pennsylvania state court in 2006, with Judge Joseph James finding that the company's Wolf Run Mining Co....
