Gasoline Cos. To Pay $2.5M Over CAA Claims

Law360, New York (May 05, 2011, 1:37 PM ET) -- Rocky Mountain Pipeline System LLC and two other Colorado-based gasoline distributors agreed Wednesday to pay $2.5 million to resolve accusations that they illegally produced and distributed more than 1 million gallons of gasoline that violated Clean Air Act requirements.

The gasoline, which was a blend of previously certified gasoline, natural gasoline and ethanol, was distributed and sold by Western Convenience Stores Inc. and Offen Petroleum Inc. at retail stations, and may have led to more than 10 tons of excess emissions of volatile organic compounds, the...
