Reed Smith Settles Female Lawyer's Sex Bias Suit

Law360, New York (May 5, 2011, 12:18 PM EDT) -- Reed Smith LLP on Thursday settled a discrimination and retaliation suit filed in Pennsylvania federal court by a former nonequity partner who claimed the firm underpaid and failed to promote her because of her sex.

Plaintiff JoEllen Lyons Dillon, who worked in the corporate and securities practice group in Reed Smith's Pittsburgh office, filed a notice of dismissal Thursday voluntarily dropping her suit, and the judge overseeing the case signed off on the dismissal notice the same day.
