India Government Unveils Details Of Patent Regime Overhaul

Law360, New York (October 25, 2004, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The government panel in charge of drafting the legal overhaul of India’s patent system has wrapped up its work, making recommendations on contentious issues such as patent opposition and compulsory licensing.

The group of ministers, which had been drafting the proposed amendments to the Patents Act, finished work in time for the government to table the bill during the winter session of parliament, according to local news reports.
