J&J Units Again Sue To Block Impax's Generic Concerta

Law360, New York (May 6, 2011, 4:07 PM EDT) -- Two Johnson & Johnson units filed another patent infringement suit against Impax Laboratories Inc. and another generics maker in Delaware on Thursday over Impax's efforts to tap into the lucrative market for the attention deficit hyperactivity disorder drug Concerta.

Alza Corp. and Ortho-McNeil-Janssen Pharmaceuticals Inc. sued Impax and Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. in the same court over the drug in November, citing the defendants' bid for U.S. Food and Drug Administration approval to make and sell a generic version of extended release 54-milligram Concerta tablets.
