Ex-Employees Hit Union Pacific With Asbestos Suit

Law360, New York (May 6, 2011, 7:55 PM EDT) -- Two former Union Pacific Railroad Co. electricians suffering from asbestosis accused the railroad franchise Friday in Texas state court of negligently exposing them to hazardous fumes.

Richard Ruby, 66, and Ronald Zimmerman, 63, claim that Union Pacific violated the Federal Employers' Liability Act by exposing them to harmful dusts, fumes and vapors that injured their lungs, reduced their life expectancy and diminished their enjoyment of life.
