Law360, New York (May 06, 2011, 7:02 PM ET) -- Ivera Medical Corp. sued rival Excelsior Medical Corp. on Friday in Texas, alleging infringement of a patent for a device used to clean intravenous valves used in medical procedures.
According to the suit, San Diego-based Ivera markets a device called the Curos Port Protector, which is used to disinfect and protect the entry port on certain types of valves used with intravenous lines to help reduce bloodstream infections in hospital patients.
