Union Sues Federal Agencies Over Lost Records

Law360, New York (May 9, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A labor union has launched a proposed class action against the Transportation Security Administration and the Department of Homeland Security on behalf of 100,000 government workers whose personal employment records have been lost.

The American Federation of Government Employees filed the lawsuit on Tuesday, a week after the TSA announced that the records had gone missing. The group accused the TSA and DHS of violating the Aviation and Transportation Security Act and Privacy Act.
