Ranchers Nix Appeal Of Class Suit Over USDA Program

Law360, New York (May 10, 2011, 7:45 PM EDT) -- A proposed class of ranchers alleging the U.S. government blocked millions of farmers and ranchers nationwide from joining a conservation contract program dropped an appeal of a court order dismissing the case Monday in the Federal Circuit in order to focus on a related suit.

Plaintiff Christopher Meyers and co-owners of Meyer Ranches will not proceed with an appeal of a federal court’s order nixing their three-count complaint, according to an order in the Federal Circuit.
