GAO, OMB Target Duplicative US Spending At Hearing

Law360, New York (May 10, 2011, 8:21 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Government Accountability Office and Office of Management and Budget testified Tuesday before Senate subcommittees on wasteful federal spending, detailing examples of duplicative programs and other inefficiencies that could be addressed during the implementation of a new federal accountability act.

GAO Comptroller General Eugene L. Dodaro told subcommittee members that the federal government currently supports 82 programs designed to improve teacher quality, across 10 different agencies.
