Expedia, Orbitz, Others Sued Over Deal-Finder Patent

Law360, New York (May 11, 2011, 4:11 PM ET) -- Expedia Inc. and LendingTree LLC were hit Monday with a suit filed in a Delaware court by Alloqate LLC alleging infringement of a patent for technology to search for discounts in online sales.

According to Alloqate, its patent covers technology that allows customers to locate a product or service at a specified discount. The suit claims that services offered by the defendants, such as the travel-booking site Expedia's "Fare Alert" feature, infringe the patent.
