Fendi IP Award Should Be Upped By $22M, Judge Says

Law360, New York (May 17, 2011, 5:42 PM EDT) -- A New York magistrate judge on Monday recommended that Italian designer Fendi Adele SRL be awarded an extra $22.4 million in damages from a trading company accused of supplying counterfeit merchandise to retailers.

The new award — to be tacked onto Fendi's earlier multimillion-dollar judgment — would bring the fashion designer's treble damages against Ashley Reed Trading Inc. to nearly $33 million, according to a report from U.S. Magistrate Judge Michael H. Dolinger.
