Poultry Co. Seeks Quick DOJ Probe Of Tyson Plant Buy

Law360, New York (May 17, 2011, 11:47 AM ET) -- George's Inc. asked a Virginia federal court Monday to fast-track the government's bid to undo its purchase of a Tyson Foods Inc. plant, arguing the antitrust suit blocks the company from effectively stemming the plant's mounting losses.

George's said in a motion that the government's "baseless lawsuit" threatens its ability to step up production at the currently unprofitable poultry processing plant, which would ultimately benefit the regions' poultry growers.
