Circle K Agrees To Fight Teen Tobacco Sales

Law360, New York (May 17, 2011, 5:21 PM EDT) -- Circle K Stores Inc. reached an agreement Tuesday with more than three dozen state attorneys general to step up efforts to prevent tobacco sales to minors at some 4,000 retail stores around the country.

Circle K and its sister company, Mac’s Convenience Stores LLC, signed an assurance of voluntary compliance with 39 states, agreeing to increase training and submit to compliance checks aimed at curbing tobacco sales to teens, according to several state attorneys general.
