Neb. Brokers Cop To $20M Securities Fraud

Law360, New York (May 18, 2011, 5:18 PM EDT) -- A Capital Growth Financial LLC broker who sold more than $20 million in high-risk securities to Nebraskans without disclosing the risk pled guilty Tuesday to fraud claims.

Attorney General Jon Bruning said Tuesday that Brian Schuster pled no contest to four counts of securities fraud. Schuster’s former business partner, Rebecca Engle, pled guilty to two counts of securities fraud last week.

An investigation by the Nebraska Department of Banking and Finance showed that Engle and Schuster sold high-risk securities to around 150 Nebraskans, including many seniors,...
