AAA Insurer Sues Rival Over Trade Secrets

Law360, New York (May 11, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A California insurer affiliated with the American Automobile Association has sped into a head-on legal collision with a rival auto insurance company which allegedly stole trade secrets by hiring its employees.

The California State Automobile Inter-Insurance Bureau filed a lawsuit last month in the Superior Court of California, County of Alameda against Webster, Mass.-based Commerce Group Inc. and its affiliates after it hired away four of the CSAA's employees, according to a Commerce SEC filing on Thursday.
