AT&T Unit Dodges Anchor Maker's Antitrust Claims

Law360, San Francisco (May 20, 2011, 1:33 PM ET) -- An AT&T Corp. subsidiary on Thursday won the dismissal of claims that one of its employees restricted Boykin Anchor Co. Inc.'s ability to compete in the market for seismic anchors used to secure digital switching cabinets.

U.S. District Judge Louise W. Flanagan tossed Boykin Anchor's Lanham Act claim that AT&T Services Inc. employee Larry Wong made false statements that Boykin’s products were inferior to those of its sole competitor, Hilti Inc., leading distributors to stop buying Boykin Anchor's products.
