Marvel Sues Disney Again Over Spider-Man Royalties

Law360, New York (November 01, 2004, 12:00 AM ET) -- Comic book publisher Marvel Enterprises Inc. has filed another lawsuit against entertainment giant Walt Disney Co. as part of a copyright dispute over the ownership of cartoon characters including Spider-Man, the Incredible Hulk and X-Men.

In a new lawsuit filed on Friday in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California in Los Angeles, Marvel asks a judge to declare that Disney never legally assumed copyrights to Marvel characters when it bought the original licensee, Fox Family Worldwide, in 2001.
