Calif. Appeals Court Allows Firm To Rep Water District

Law360, New York (May 25, 2011, 3:10 PM ET) -- A California state appeals court on Tuesday refused to disqualify Miller Axline & Sawyer from representing the Orange County Water District in a groundwater contamination suit, rejecting claims that the firm is barred from working on a contingency fee basis.

The suit accuses companies that owned, operated or leased industrial facilities in Anaheim and Fullerton of dumping hazardous waste that contaminated groundwater aquifers. The water district demands that the defendants cover all investigation and remediation costs.
