US Unveils Enhanced Fuel Economy Labels

Law360, New York (May 25, 2011, 1:47 PM EDT) -- U.S. officials said Wednesday that fuel economy labels on vehicles will be required to include estimated annual fuel costs, fuel savings compared to the average vehicle and emissions information, starting with model year 2013 cars and trucks.

The U.S. Department of Transportation and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency called it the most dramatic overhaul to fuel economy labels since they were instituted more than 30 years ago.
