Insurers Lose Bid To Toss Property Damage Suit

Law360, New York (May 25, 2011, 7:55 PM ET) -- An Iowa federal judge refused Wednesday to toss a general contractor's lawsuit claiming insurers covering an H. Group Holding Inc. affiliate should compensate it for footing part of a $53 million payout in an underlying contract suit over property damages.

The Weitz Co. LLC and an architecture firm had paid the settlement to put to rest a breach of contract suit launched by CC-Aventura Inc., an affiliate of H. Group Holding, that sought compensation for repairs at a Florida luxury retirement community.
