Roche Workers Lose Appeal Of ERISA Claims

Law360, New York (May 15, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Claims by a group of sacked Hoffman-La Roche employees that the drug maker outsourced their jobs to avoid future pension payments have been dismissed by an appeals court on a technicality.

The workers sued for claims under the Employee Retirement Income Security Act after the statute of limitations had expired, the U.S Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit ruled on Monday. But the missed opportunity was a matter of mere days.
