Ky. Jury Favors Rawlings In OT Class Action

Law360, New York (May 27, 2011, 9:12 PM ET) -- A Kentucky jury returned a verdict Friday for The Rawlings Co. LLC in a class action alleging the company owed its medical claims auditors $12 million in back pay for misclassifying them as overtime exempt.

After a three-week trial, the jury in the Oldham County Circuit Court in Kentucky found that the company and its founder George Rawlings had not violated state wage-and-hour laws when classifying the medical claims auditors as salaried positions, according to Rawlings attorney Shawn Rabin of Susman Godfrey LLP.
