AT&T Unit Fails To Shake State Law OT Claims

Law360, New York (June 03, 2011, 2:46 PM ET) -- A Connecticut federal judge refused Wednesday to boot state law claims from a class action alleging an AT&T Inc. subsidiary improperly classifies a group of workers as managers and treats them as exempt from overtime laws.

Judge Janet C. Hall on Wednesday denied a motion for summary judgment filed by Southern New England Telephone Co., which does business as AT&T Connecticut, in which the telephone company claimed the plaintiffs do in fact qualify as executive employees under Connecticut law, and are therefore exempt from state overtime...
