Pfizer Sues Watson Over Viagra ANDA

Law360, New York (June 2, 2011, 9:56 PM EDT) -- Pfizer Inc. sued Watson Pharmaceuticals Inc. and a subsidiary in New York federal court Wednesday in an effort to block them from selling a generic version of Viagra.

The suit was filed in response to Watson's abbreviated new drug application for a generic version of the erectile dysfunction drug. Watson wants approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to market the generic, using the chemical compound sildenafil citrate, in 25-, 50- and 100-milligram tablets.
