Kason, CHG To Settle Price-Fixing Claims For $7M

Law360, San Diego (June 03, 2011, 8:55 PM ET) -- A Georgia federal judge on Friday preliminarily approved settlements by Kason Industries Inc. and Component Hardware Group Inc. worth a total of nearly $7 million to resolve a consolidated class action over alleged price-fixing of commercial food service equipment.

U.S. District Judge William Duffey Jr. granted the plaintiffs’ motion for initial approval of their proposed settlement with Kason and former Kason President Peter A. Katz and their proposed deal with CHG, determining they were fair, reasonable and adequate.
