Invitrogen Sues Harvard Over Cloning Patent

Law360, New York (May 17, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A California life sciences company has hit the president and fellows of Harvard College with an intellectual property lawsuit, accusing the university’s top guardians of wrongly laying claim to a molecular cloning patent.

On Tuesday, Invitrogen Corp. filed suit in the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts, hoping to reverse a decision handed down by the board of patent appeals and interferences of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
