Life Partners Could Face Expanded SEC Suit

Law360, New York (June 6, 2011, 9:34 PM EDT) -- Life Partners Holdings Inc. on Monday said that the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission may expand the scope of a potential civil suit against the financial services company over the accuracy of life expectancy data it used to sell securities to investors.

The company told investors that it received an amended Wells notice from the agency on Friday that enumerated additional possible violations of securities laws committed by the company and added chief financial officer David M. Martin to the list of potential defendants.
