Fed. Circ. Won’t Review Saint-Gobain Loss In Scanner Suit

Law360, San Diego (June 7, 2011, 5:51 PM EDT) -- The Federal Circuit shot down a Saint-Gobain SA unit's bid Tuesday to rehear a decision upholding a $45 million judgment against it for infringing Siemens AG’s medical scanning technology and remanding the case for the Delaware district court to consider additional damages.

The appeals court denied Saint-Gobain Ceramics & Plastics Inc.’s request for a panel rehearing, and in a divided ruling, the majority of the Federal Circuit judges also refused to rehear the case en banc.
