Sprint Investors Demand KPMG Merger Audit Docs

Law360, New York (June 8, 2011, 6:58 PM EDT) -- Shareholders in a class action over the 2005 merger that created Sprint Nextel Corp. asked a Kansas federal court Wednesday to force KPMG Inc. to hand over documents it compiled while evaluating Sprint and Nextel's financial statements.

The shareholders claim Sprint Corp.'s $37.8 billion merger with wireless company Nextel Communications Inc. resulted in a host of problems that Sprint executives hid from investors for almost three years.
