Ex-Leor CEO Fights To Revive Suit Over Sale Proceeds

Law360, New York (June 10, 2011, 7:21 PM EDT) -- The ex-CEO of Leor Exploration & Production LLC urged a Florida federal judge Wednesday to reconsider her dismissal of a suit over the $2.55 billion sale of the oil company that included legal malpractice claims against Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP and a former partner.

Guma Aguiar, who was dismissed from Leor in December 2008, said in a motion for reconsideration that new evidence had surfaced, including privileged emails between Leor founder Thomas Kaplan and defense attorneys that Aguiar had allegedly hacked, that removed their privilege....
