15-State Salmonella Outbreak Linked To Ohio Hatchery

Law360, New York (June 10, 2011, 6:01 PM EDT) -- Ohio health officials said Thursday that a salmonella outbreak that has sickened 39 people across 15 states had been linked to live chicks and ducklings from a hatchery in the state.

The state's departments of Health and Agriculture said that most of the people affected by a strain of the disease called salmonella altona had come into contact with chicks or ducklings from Mt. Healthy Hatchery through a national agricultural feed store with locations around the U.S. Officials did not identify the feed store.
