EPA Head Defends Benefits Of CAA Regulations

Law360, New York (June 15, 2011, 3:20 PM EDT) -- The head of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and U.S. Senate allies on Wednesday touted the health benefits of the Clean Air Act and proposals targeting power plant emissions and cross-state air pollution, fighting arguments that such looming regulations will harm the economy.

During a hearing on the CAA and its legacy, several Republicans on the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works accused the EPA of overreaching in its air pollution regulations at the expense of industry and jobs.
