Google Aims To Block Oracle Expert In Android IP Suit

Law360, New York (June 14, 2011, 7:12 PM EDT) -- Google Inc. asked a California federal court on Tuesday to exclude royalty calculations compiled by an Oracle America Inc. expert witness in a suit alleging Google lifted code for the Android smartphone operating system from Oracle's Java software.

Google argued in a partially redacted Daubert motion that Oracle’s damages expert Iain M. Cockburn committed “fundamental and disqualifying” legal errors when calculating the royalty that Oracle would be entitled to if it won the case.
