Dreyer's Falsely Marks 'All Natural' Ice Cream, Suit Says

Law360, New York (June 15, 2011, 7:20 PM ET) -- Nestle SA subsidiary Dreyer's Grand Ice Cream Inc. was hit with a putative class action in California federal court on Tuesday contending that it falsely labels many of its ice cream products as all natural.

Named plaintiff Skye Astiana alleges the all-natural claims are prominently made on DGIC's Dreyer's, Haagen-Dazs and Edy's ice cream products to cultivate a wholesome and healthful image that are false because they contain alkalized cocoa processed with potassium carbonate — a man-made, synthetic ingredient.
