Insurer Wants No Part In Anheuser-Busch Asbestos Suits

Law360, New York (June 17, 2011, 7:11 PM ET) -- Century Indemnity Co. sued Anheuser-Busch Inc. on Friday in Missouri federal court, claiming it has no obligation to defend the beer giant in more than 100 suits over injuries allegedly caused by asbestos exposure at one of the beer giant's facilities.

Anheuser-Busch has sought coverage for at least some of the asbestos suits under excess insurance policies issued by Century's predecessor, Insurance Co. of North America, from 1980 through 1992, according to the complaint.
