High Court Declines To Hear Case Against Senator

Law360, New York (May 22, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The Supreme Court Monday declined to hear an appeal that sought to dismiss a rare employment discrimination suit against a former United States senator.

The Court's action has the consequence of permitting the lawsuit to go forward.

Brad Hanson is suing former Senator Mark Dayton (D-Minn.), charging Dayton and his office with unlawfully firing him after he informed them he would need to take time off to receive an operation for his cardiac arrythmia.
