3rd Concrete Exec Sentenced In DOJ Price-Fixing Probe

Law360, Los Angeles (June 21, 2011, 7:51 PM EDT) -- The president of an Iowa concrete company was sentenced Tuesday to 45 days' prison for his role in a scheme to fix the price of ready-mix concrete.

Tri-State Ready Mix Inc. President Chad Van Zee was also fined $50,000 by U.S. District Judge Mark Bennett, after pleading guilty in December to a felony charge of violating the Sherman Act , a U.S. Department of Justice representative said. Van Zee is the third concrete executive sentenced as a result of the DOJ probe.
