Edwards Trial Date Pushed Back For More Discovery

Law360, New York (June 21, 2011, 6:15 PM EDT) -- A North Carolina federal judge on Tuesday reportedly pushed back the criminal case against former Sen. John Edwards, saying prosecutors should figure out which of their 300,000 documents should be handed over to defense attorneys before a trial date is set.

"I encourage you to release everything," U.S. District Judge N. Carlton Tilley Jr. said at a hearing, according to a report by the Associated Press. "Let's get busy. Let's start turning stuff over."
