Toys R Us Settles Trademark Suit V. Tobacco Seller

Law360, New York (June 23, 2011, 5:48 PM ET) -- Toys R Us Inc. on Monday settled its trademark and cybersquatting suit in Pennsylvania against local cigarette retail chain Smokes R Us of Pa. Corp., which agreed to change its name as part of the deal.

U.S. District Judge John E. Jones III signed off on a consent judgment directing Smokes R Us to drop its name, transfer its domain name to Toys R Us and destroy all marketing materials incorporating the infringing mark. The parties had also entered a separate confidential settlement, the judgment said....
