Millennium Holdings Settles $8.7M Lead Paint Suit

Law360, New York (June 24, 2011, 1:50 PM EDT) -- Bankrupt holding company Millennium Holdings LLC has agreed to pay $8.7 million to settle a California nuisance suit over widespread health problems caused by lead paint, prosecutors said Thursday.

The settlement will be divided among 10 California cities and counties, according to San Diego City Attorney Jan Goldsmith, whose city received $773,636.53. The funds will be used for lead paint-related health efforts, Goldsmith said.

“These settlement funds will help our communities avoid further harm to children caused by lead paint,” she said.
