Sued Over ‘Memory Lane’ Trademark

Law360, New York (June 24, 2011, 6:26 PM EDT) -- The operator of, the widely advertised online reunion service, was hit Thursday with a trademark infringement and unfair competition suit in California over its use of the mark “Memory Lane” in connection with its website.

The suit, which alleges false designation of origin and unfair competition in violation of the Lanham Act and state law, accuses Delaware-based Classmates International Inc. of illegally using as an alternate company name the “Memory Lane” phrase, for which California-based memorabilia company Memory Lane Inc. says it owns the trademarks....
