ITC To Probe Infringement Of Smartphone Case Patents

Law360, Los Angeles (June 24, 2011, 8:05 PM EDT) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission said Friday that it has responded to a patent infringement complaint filed in May by Otter Products LLC by voting to institute an investigation of protective cases for electronic devices.

The ITC probe, which will look at certain protective cases for smartphones, tablet computers and other electronic devices, could result in exclusion orders and cease-and-desist orders for the nearly 30 targeted companies.
