The Gap Triumphs In Trademark Battle

Law360, New York (June 27, 2011, 9:14 PM EDT) -- Clothing retailer The Gap Inc. won a trademark infringement suit against Canadian eco-travel company G.A.P. Adventures on Friday, with a New York federal judge ruling that the Canadian company must change its name.

G.A.P., which fought the claims for years, must change its name and logo by Sept. 1, U.S. District Judge Alvin K. Hellerstein said, finding in favor of The Gap on two claims of trademark infringement.
