McCormick Grabs Polish Spice Co. For $291M

Law360, New York (June 28, 2011, 12:33 PM EDT) -- Maryland-based spice giant McCormick & Co. Inc. said Tuesday it was expanding into Eastern Europe and Russia, where increasingly affluent buyers are ready for new flavors, with the $291 million purchase of Polish seasoning company Kamis SA.

Kamis has 1,250 workers, annual sales exceeding $100 million, a 45 percent share of Poland's spice market and a 30 percent share of its mustard market, McCormick said.
